Outstanding School Vaccines
Posted on:
The Immunisations Team is going to the Al Hikmah Centre in Batley on 30th October from 10am to 3pm to offer outstanding school vaccines. This includes those vaccines routinely given in:
- Year 8 – HPV (Humanpapilloma virus) for boys and girls to reduce the risk of many cancers
- Year 9 – Diptheria, Tetanus and Polio 3-in-1 vaccine – which completes a course that was started as a baby and protects in adult life
- A meningitis vaccine that offers protection against four bacteria types that can cause meningitis – very important in young adults
- Any outstanding MMR vaccines – to protect against measles mumps and rubella – if not given when younger, it can be given at any age
The team is also available to discuss flu vaccines and how to access them if they have not been provided by the school. For any queries, please contact Kelly Roberts.
